Terms of Use — Drivian Telematics Demo App

Last updated: Nov 2026

1. General Information

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Drivian Telematics Demo App, developed and operated by Sentilant – Consultoria e Inovação, Lda, Coimbra, Portugal.

The Drivian Telematics Demo App is a mobile application designed exclusively for evaluation and testing purposes. It allows prospective clients, partners and developers to experience the capabilities of the Drivian Telematics mobile SDK and the quality of the KPI provided for mobile activities — including driving behavior detection, trip tracking, activity recognition and risk scoring — before integrating it into their own applications.

By downloading, installing and using this app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must refrain from downloading, installing or using the application.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

To use the Drivian Telematics Demo App, you must create a user account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

The app is intended for use by professionals and organizations evaluating the Drivian Telematics solutions. By registering, you confirm that you are using the app for evaluation purposes and not for personal insurance, legal or regulatory purposes.

3. App Functionality

Once installed and authorised, the app will monitor and analyse your driving activity when you enable telematics data collection. The following data points are collected per trip and made available in the app dashboard:

  • Trip start and end time, duration and distance
  • Departure and arrival locations
  • Full route map with GPS trace
  • Overall safety score per trip
  • Sub-scores per driving dimension: speed, attention, efficiency and defensive driving
  • Detected driving events by type, including hard braking, aggressive acceleration, sharp cornering, speeding and phone use
  • Maximum and average speed, acceleration and braking force
  • Multimodal activity, including walking, running and driving

This data is provided for demonstration and evaluation purposes only and should not be used as a basis for insurance pricing, legal proceedings or any other consequential decision-making.

4. Required Permissions

For the app to monitor trips correctly, you must enable GPS and access to other sensors. Without this permission, trip detection and analysis will not function correctly. The app also requires access to motion and fitness sensors, including the accelerometer and gyroscope, for driving behaviour analysis.

5. Trip Detection and Accuracy

The app uses algorithms and machine learning models to classify driving events. While the system is designed to be robust, occasional errors in trip detection or event classification may occur, particularly in edge cases such as unusual device positioning or mixed transport modes. Data presented in the app reflects the current state of the SDK under evaluation and may not represent final production accuracy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Drivian Telematics Demo App solely for its intended evaluation purpose. You must not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or extract the underlying SDK, models or algorithms from the application. You must not use the app in any way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of third parties.

7. Intellectual Property

All technology, algorithms, models, software and content within the Drivian Telematics Demo App are the exclusive property of Sentilant – Consultoria e Inovação, Lda, and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. Use of the app does not transfer any ownership or licence rights beyond those strictly necessary for evaluation purposes.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided on an “as is” basis for evaluation purposes. Sentilant makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose of the data or scores produced by the app. Results obtained during evaluation are indicative only.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sentilant shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the app, including reliance on any data or scores produced by it.
